Aims and Objectives

This aim of the AMC is achieved through the following objectives:

  • Creation and innovation of indigenous farming tools suitable to Bhutanese farms.
  • Promotion of improved agriculture technology in the country.
  • Effective and efficient distribution of agriculture equipments to the farmers.
  • Capacity development of the farmers in the use of improved technology and farming practices.
  • Act as the regulatory body of quality and Safety.

Agriculture Machinery Training Centre (AMTC)

The AMTC is responsible for capacity development of farmers in the use of new technology and farming practices. The Centre has a well established training facility with accommodation facility for the trainees. The facility was built in 1986 with the Japanese grant. A regular training program of the centre include the training of farmers in the operation, repairs and maintenance of farm machines. Besides the regular training program, the centre conducts need based short courses to groups of farmers. The centre is also involved in training the students of the Natural Resource Training Institute and the extension officials. The training curriculum comprise operations and maintenance courses of farm machines.
